    A little BARN update….~

    Studio News

    December 21st, 2008

ok. yes. I am seriously moving my studio into an old old barn. I know that might sound a little crazy….but I love this barn! I have been shooting around the exterior of it for quite some time now and I love it more and more every time I shoot there! To me…it’s amazing! The wood is old and beautiful…the sun sets perfectly behind the field next to the barn (yes, the field is mine too…yay!) and there is also a second barn in the back of the property which makes such a fun prop in soooo many spots!! We have lots of ideas for the outside property….it’s gonna be super! I have finally been given access to the property….NOW I am excited! Because I can finally get MY hands on it!!! eeeeeeeeehhhhhhh!!!!

As for the inside…we are concentrating on the office part right now because we want to move in SOON!!  Below are some pics of the progress so far! Let me know what you think…share your thoughts and give me some ideas!!! I want to hear your comments!!! ;)

This is the light in the restroom….the walls are orange right now but we are not done. A cream wash (glaze) will be sponged to finish.

Here is our shooting room!!! yay! it is HUGE! I love my chandelier in the middle…the crystals are amber…love love!! The blue door you see leads into the office. All the doors and windows are old old from other old buildings and homes. Did I mention things will be rustic! ;) But we are accenting with fancy, modern, contemporary!!

This is the door that leads into the shooting room from the office. The pile of old windows and shutters are just things for me to play with!

This room is the last one that will be finished…it is for our retail items!! We are doing a big fabric wall with some really cool pattern…very bold and chic!!! can’t wait to get started on this. The white door leads into the shooting room.

Here is another view of the shooting room. The chandelier is in the center of the room! I am dying to do a session in here!!!

The office…notice the rusty tin ceilings!!! I heart rusty tin! Jessica will have her desk in this part….the back part will be my office. Our cute little orange and crystal chandelier will go in this room also…with our swirly orange rug and cream colored chairs. These walls will also have some cream glaze on them!

FOYER!!!!!! yep….my foyer is made of old cedar or cypress…I get them mixed up! whatever! I love it! This wood actually came from another barn in town that was being torn down! Great idea Robert!! :)

    old blue door….

just another view of the office. and you can kinda see the foyer. ain’t it pretty!!

this view is from the back of the office…which is MY space! yay! I finally get some space just for MEEEEEE!!!!

alrighty!! I hope you enjoyed the preview!! I really do want to hear your opinions…ideas…comments….you love it or hate it!  We have lots of work to do but it already looks so much different from when we started!

I will be posting some session pics before I leave town for Christmas…I know I am sooo dang behind…I owe you guys so many pics on this blog! I have just been trying to get everyone’s Christmas pics out on time!! :)  Thanks to everyone that watches the blog! We love ya’ll….

my husband and I have recently noticed that our 4 year old..Reid..is a pro at working the iphone…..  it is so cute! We caught him playing the ipod that is on our iphones! He has his fav songs that he goes directly to and jams out! ;) his cute little fingers flip thru the albums just so perfect….and QUICK! he also utilizes the camera…we have tons of pics of his face or his feet or a part of a chair or the floor or whatever he was facing at that moment! of course, we have games on our phones that he loves to play and has pretty much mastered!

kids these days are just so used to electronics…it is second nature to them! isn’t it just amazing how things evolve? I have no idea how to set up our wii….but my 9 year old ..Connor.. has NO problem!  Now if I can just teach them all how to use the coffee pot! wink wink!

here are some pics of a lovely little lady! This is her second session with me and she is growing like a weed! or should I say ‘growing like a pretty little flower’!

what a perfect little baby doll….

You guys keep watching….lots of stuff to come in 2009….we are moving our studio into “the barn”…we are the cover photographer for a local magazine L beginning with the January cover.    AND we have some other stuff up our sleeves! Just wait and see! We will be going to a trade show in January and will be bringing back some wonderful new ideas!

    Our little camping adventure!!~

    Personal

    November 3rd, 2008

Adventure is Right!!  That pretty much sums it up! Our little family…minus Ken (cuz he has better things to do) went camping this weekend. It was a place called the Dunes! We love to ride our 4 wheelers and razor..so this place was great! It was big sandy hills all around…right smack in the middle of the forest! Just sandy hill after sandy  hill. It was amazing! I have no idea why the sand is there but it makes for super riding!!

We camped out and did the marshmellow thing (roasting)…we slept in a tent…yes, I said a tent! I almost froze to death! But we made it thru and the kids had a blast! I got to finish a book that I am reading (Twilight…I am addicted thanks to KIM!!) and it was sooo nice to just relax! Except that I probably would have relaxed a little more if I was in a nice warm hotel room! haha!! just kidding jacob! ;)

Here are some pics from our trip!  Jake even surprised me with some pink googles! ain’t he the sweetest!

I know…the pics suck! Sorry…I wasn’t really trying to be a photog this weekend! Actually I think I was kind of trying NOT to be! ha! My little point and shoot camera was foggy for some of the pics! oh well.

    smiles…
